My Nemo Swimming Journey: Noah & Paige
Noah’s story is a little different to some of the others we have shared as Noah no longer swims with us at Nemo Swimming. So, you might be thinking, why on earth are we sharing this story?! Well, it’s because Noah swam with us up until he started school. He then moved to lessons with our friends at SwimNE who deliver our Nemo Juniors-equivalent classes in Newcastle & North Tyneside.
How old was Noah when he started Nemo Swimming classes?
He was 2 years old. It was just after COVID and it honestly felt like he had been there from a baby – he just got it! The classes were always fun and when it came to him moving up to Nemo Pre-school class without me in the water, he didn’t even look back – just walked up that pool with all the excitement and confidence of a pro!
And how old is he now?
He’s 5 now and has just completed Stage 3 with SwimNE
Note: SwimNE deliver Nemo Juniors-equivalent lessons in Newcastle & North Tyneside. When children start school (reception), they will transition into classes with SwimNE and we work incredibly closer with the team there
What benefits have you seen as a result of bringing Noah to swimming lessons?
His love for swimming and confidence in the water is incredible! He also knows how to be safe and how to act in and around water – something that has always been so important to us as a family.
What does Noah love most about swimming?
He’s always loved swimming and there have been so many activities that he has enjoyed. In his current class, it’s got to be the jumping in and the races – he’s destined for competitive swimming, for sure!
What would you say to other parents thinking about signing their child up to Nemo Swimming classes?
Absolutely do it! Its not just a baby class, it’s a journey your little ones can go on. From being newborn they can be comfortable in the water and learn how to be safe. I love that the learning develops as children grow and reach all their different milestones, too.
